MOSES were hoping that some people would come to their first headline show in Birmingham and enjoy themselves.
The band will do what it takes to play so when James hurt his ankle they were without a bassist. Nice one, Otta on finding Elias Wachenje to step in. With just a few rehearsals he was AWE-some.
Aargh! Getting a van fell through, which meant also that we couldn't bring the drum kit and bass amp.
The show must go on, as they say, so thank you so much to support band, Extras for the extra support(!) and http://birminghamsoundhire.co.uk/ also! Boom, we could gig. Managed to find affordable train tickets - determined to play!
Good to see loud applause for both openers, Redhaus (who headline their own launch show this week) and Extras who went down the proverbial storm.
#ThatBandMOSES is a community of band, choir and followers. I'm so glad to have seen some familiar faces this evening, also to make new friends. There seemed to be quite a few people in the room who knew the 2020 album and the 2021 singles. The bands faces were a picture to these reactions.
They had to run after packing up their gear, to make the last train back to London. There was another lovely surprise. Jeanie & Jonny, the ace SNCFest promoters, saw MOSES on the train platform and came to find them with extra supplies for the after-show that Matt had put together (in the off license on the way!). What a way to round off an evening. Home in the early hours of the morning again, but buzzing from Brum. THANK YOU (also for the lovely feedback on social media, it really is appreciated).
Here's an unlisted clip of the days adventures.
Cheers again, Modern Age.
Next stop, Brighton. Sadly, the drummer of the support band, Fragile Creatures, has tested positive for Covid 19 this morning (8th September), so they can't play tomorrow. I'm just hoping that whatever happens, MOSES have a lovely trip to the seaside and that, again, somebody comes to the show and has a good time and the band stay safe.
