Yet another huge tune for 2021 from a collection of brand new MOSES songs written and recorded since the release of April 2020's debut album, 'Almost Everything Is Bullshit'. They need to be witnessed live. You get a stadium rock n roll show, all thriller no filler, on even the tiniest stage.

An unusual "fall and (slow but consistent) rise" story. Every little success, from the messaged feedback that the band receive from their international followers, to a positive music site review or a supportive radio play, is an appreciated success.

Where they really shine and grow though, is when they can play live. It's been one step forward two steps back since their EP was released at the end of 2016. Triumphant shows through 2017 followed by their first fall - half the band escaping the music industry (April 2018). MOSES regrouped that Autumn to DIY build in the smallest venues with a campaign of seasonal single releases.
Pic: October 2018 Fun while making the video for 'River Thames' with Hum Hum Production. The lad and his dad were walking past and asked if the band didn't mind. They didn't, bless their hearts. (I find them to be a kind gang).

The yellow jacket (which accidentally matches Quinns Pub in Camden) belongs to the director, Carol Van Hemelrijck - best regards to her and producer, Jeanne Scahaise for such an engaging "generations" video.

This was also the last full day of Camden Market, so I bought some deathly hallows ear rings because that's how Britain felt.

Then

MOSES got back to the point of a genuine fan base and audible excitement (July 2019, Kick Out The Jams) but had to seek a new guitarist at the end of the night (thanks for playing the rest of that year's shows, Rory!)

There were three 2020 gigs (thank you Lockdown Luke) - in January, James was the only one who wasn't really ill with flu. I nearly called it off but thankfully they could play. Two socially distanced and seated gigs in Autumn proved that their energy works on any stage.

By 2021, the pandemic could have finished MOSES, but the album lifted so many people and the songs keep coming towards a follow up. 'Pawns' as timeline refresher mantra, caught the ear of Stuart Vallans, the head of new year launched Marshall Live Agency.

Now we can almost taste live shows again.

"I guess we're all scared of hope"

('Move On' - the Spring single voices my fervent wish ).

Will MOSES finally get to play that all important first headline tour? The #SaveOurVenues grassroots circuit is a landmark in any band's tale.

Alongside the financial worries, timetabling around work, seeking work, education and staying well (thankfully, our lead singer, Victor fully recovered from Covid) the band found a new guitarist and have been practising whenever possible.

Since last summer, they're also been working in the studio, taking trips to work in the safety-first environs of Wolverhampton's increasingly iconic Magic Garden Studios with the "Wizard Of Wolvo", Gavin Monaghan. A spiritual guidance in their lives.

2021 /2022: Start touring again
The Summer release, 'That's Who You Are', was played in July by Radio X guru, John Kennedy, who is also part of their story.

It is on This Feeling's Best New Bands Spotify playlist and is Track Of The Month on Indie Rocks Radio.

The song rouses like an uplifting anthem should. We need this.

Later this month, from July 19th to be precise, we (England) head into (more) unknown territory.

I just hope that, as a nation, we can stay safe and look after each other (and get to experience live music again, without stop).

One day, eh, friends?

"Wait out, wait out, the storm will be over
I know you'll see"...

Hallo Otta Bayley, this year international creative collective, MOSES, became a four-piece guitar band again. Look, see:

"To play or not to play?" That is the question, when safety goal posts move daily. I hope that the deeply wished answer is that on Sunday 18th July, MOSES take to the stage (5pm) at #SNCFest 2021. Being outdoors, small and safety regulated, the love live music event can go ahead because it has been created by good sports. Free Entry/All Ages.

I'll be there from the start, come rain or shine, as they do yummy cakes in South Norwood. I am involved with and a huge fan of both Helve (Aphex Twin/Radiohead offspring) are on at 1pm and Bugeye (Britain's No.1 Disco Punks) on at 5pm - Dancing is all day! It's been too long, I don't wanna miss any of it. Come early as there will be a safety limit if it gets to capacity. I dance like I sing - badly and joyously. (Ca
