It’s fair to say that no unsigned, independent working class band’s backstory is easy but this one is more than worth following.
A MOSES live appearance is ALWAYS an occasion - a performance that belongs on bigger stages, up close, affordably, personally... delivering what sounds like a greatest hits set live.
Fans travel (some, internationally) for a word of mouth rock band. Reviews of both their recordings and shows are laden with superlatives.
In short MOSES are a dream band, under the radar who can not stop writing sizzling bangers. If you know, you're "The Choir Crowd" uplifted by the power of songs.
For artists and audiences alike, times are hard.
Especially in the post brexit climate where touring for musicians is harder. Even the necessary grassroots venue circuit are endangered or being culled.
Imagine 2026 if we'd not had a dozen years of Music Venue Trust? (MOSES played one of their earliest shows (Save The Social in Central London - that location is saved and recently celebrated it's 30th year).

Since lockdown ended, it's been an even more grave new world.
"Just do more shows!"
"Just make more content!"
"Just go out more!"
"Just contact loads of people all the time!"
We can't lose the humanity of musicians at a time when capitalism's robots are stealing what's left of their futures.
At least most of the industry/media supported bands that we've lost this decade had the chance to leave some recordings for posterity. Seeing how many 1970s to early 21st century names are still living their best life it seems only fair that more potential is a gift to the economy as well as the nation's future.
The fight is on for post-Brexit talent to also get a chance of touring and releasing for years. The golden prize, making it, is as simple as being able to get out of bed and be an artist every day.
MOSES are discovered by music fans sharing and playlisting their tunes, as their Spotify streaming proves. They deserve to live this dream. The support of independent media, national radio and their audience creates a true story. A rock opera in real time.
An intuitive music writer recently pointed out that MOSES songs are too diverse for “the bean counters” to invest in. Hitting the nail on the head.
They are not an “indie-by-numbers” proposition. That can be a disadvantage with regards to packaging. Being outside the outsiders with a punky live delivery, in the 50th year of punk rock music, is a calling.

Meet a music world back story that is more "tortoise" than it is "hare". Thanks to consistent support for their songs, good nature, passion and performances, MOSES are inevitable. They're still getting noticed anew!
2025
A charismatic enigma of a band (i.e. unknown). A rare glimpse into who they actually are as people, is that in the first half of the year, before their first show of the year (the super-cool Bucharest venue, Control) they played the final words of Maxi Jazz to the audience.The songs pour from the heart and everywhere they go, this band have got soul.
That Summer, a young writer caught them live at Soccer SixFest (Mile End Stadium). His first review for ASBO Magazine noted: "...a new Britpop sensation reminiscent of the Blur and Oasis glory days of the late nineties, early noughties era".
By the second half of last year, MOSES had managed to get past the poignant self awareness realisation - "SOMETHING" - that they posted in October.
This blog is unashamedly biased in favour of a perfectly imperfect group but is not their only admirer: "They are, as people, what being in a band is all about" (Gavin Monaghan owner of Magic Garden Studios in Wolverhampton, where three magic albums were recorded)
Their magnificent album, 'CAPITALISE this’, NEEDED to be unleashed on bonfire night. The black and white artwork is as stark as the capitalist era we are living through. It is a classic release.

The video that visionary film maker, JJ Eringa and the band, created for one of the tracks - ‘SUPREME’ - caught the attention of rising creator's platform, Playhuman. Matthew, Victor, Morgan and Fraser (MOSES live) went up The Mount and had a surreal, beautiful sunny day on the 8/8 spiritual portal. They came down, supreme.
Meet also, then, an up coming, awarded and exhibited creator's platform. The team's belief is a boost for a band who can not stop gifting uplifting songs to the end of days. The Playhuman vision is so needed for creators to show the world what they can do - on their own terms.

MOSES remain determined to be seen and heard, despite the odds betting against them. Compulsion can feel like madness. Never under estimate the power of major song writing. With appreciation to all who know and are on side, cheers for the belief.

So far their songs have been heard at a boxing match in the Midlands, a pub in Stoke On Trent before the Manics gig, (the pleasure boat in London that sank in the storms - on the River Thames!), DJ’d by the Chaos Twins at a New Cross arts launch, at Luton FC (courtesy of Transmission Radio) - and over the sound system of a Belgravian Palace!
The week after their USA shows at SXSW (one venue said they were the best thing all week), it was MOSES who were the "goal horn" tune every time that the Texas Stars Ice Hockey Team scored a goal!
So imagine if people heard MOSES in public, more!
A day before January's Croydon show, one conversation with Presenter/Broadcaster, Louise Schofield, was about exactly this - about getting people to hear MOSES from Indie DJs.
(Lou and MOSES lead singer, Victor, presented 'Chat The Great' (key music industry interviews but casually) together in lockdown. Karen Emanuel of Key Productions became an OBE this year.
In 2022, Louise made her video directing debut with 'Mad Abour My Dreams' . Such a day of joy was had in Shoreditch)
In April 2026, MOSES headlined The Lexington in Islington. It was Anthems All Areas, as ever. Glorious.
A brand new song, 'Sometimes', was premiered to loud cheers alongside the joy of three albums worth of "greatest-hits-sounding" songs, exactly six years since their debut long player, 'Almost Everything Is Bullshit'.
The special guests, Undici, were discovered on the same night in January as the above mentioned conversation with Louise. She was the host of The Bands Come Out To Play and they were one of six finalists. Their grand sound was appreciated and fan winning at The Lexington a few months later.
There were also new faces icatching the headliners live for the first time (the lovely lady in the exotic hat said that if they don’t make it, she’d eat her hat!). MOSES fans had travelled from around the UK - and from more than one part of Europe - for the energy burst on stage.
Playhuman were there to film the evening for posterity. There were many creatives and fellow artists in the crowd so new networks were made and new futures will bloom. Watch all of their spaces!

MOSES have mostly been writing, rehearsing, demoing and recording new material for a fourth album. The response to the above mentioned brand new tune, aired at The Lexington, was most encouraging.

MOSES have mostly been writing, rehearsing, demoing and recording new material for a fourth album. The response to the above mentioned brand new tune, aired at The Lexington, was most encouraging.
The band will return to the studio in Autumn then they start 2027 with a headline show at trendy East End venue, Signature Brew in Haggerston. They remain acclaimed as one of the best live bands and social media says that fans are already making long distance travel plans.
This is a romantic West End theatre play, a movie, a book, more videos and an interactive community all rolled into one. In a world of Not OK Computers, MOSES are perfect to Playhuman... Come with us and CAPITALISE this!
