It's happening. M O S E S first headline tour: Autumn 2021

The first headline tour...

Wait.

How can a band who released their first EP at the end of 2016 only be playing their first headline tour in Autumn 2021?

Through a series of incidents (some fortunate). This is just a different story, that's all.

A single in 2017 and loads of big stages and supports that included opening BBC Introducing at Reading and Leeds.

Starting 2018 on the red carpet with a movie soundtrack.

No headline tour of the smallest spaces, trying to win a base of fans, or releases, amidst the big supports.

By Spring 2018 it was "fuck the biz" and half a band gone after a storming show at The Water Rats which got them re-booked.

The culture of MOSES as an international creative community started right there. Juno (K-pop before k-pop!) and Zakk, are still friends on side - from the far East!

Autumn 2018 a new journey collaborating with visual artists and film makers, DIY = MOSES rebooted with a guitarist Rory, but minus the music biz.

Would the next Water Rats return gig work?

(James had joined on bass just days earlier! It was a hard to promote show while assembling a line up to rehearse.

It was absolutely beautiful in the end after the pre-first note nerves. Thank you This Feeling.

Then

Days out, making videos with Simon Baker and Hum Hum Production.

Supports with The Mysterines, SHEAFS, Calva Louise, The Blinders, The Ks and some independent festival slots...

It felt like tides were turning, hopeful.

2019

Start building headline shows, date by date, towards a Spring 2020 headline tour. Screams of excitement by the Kick Out The Jams gig  (Summer) but, then aargh exams, jobs, new projects behind the scenes - and then...

'Findings' video. Loved by most women. Loathed by most middle aged men. The band stand with the creators. Oops, publisher, label, potential co-management - all gone in a song.

 Keep going.

Many thanks to Tom Sarig (was Lou Reed's manager) for the support and advice to get the debut album done.

An amazing virtual art exhibition grew with each release of the #AlmostEIB single and album series by Ana Bănică.

2019 was also a second Radio X session, some ace independent festival appearances (including CroCroLand, Soma Festival and Neighbourhood), keeping the seasonal single releases coming, spinning plates,  frustration in with the elation - but thankfully going forward.

By the time that they returned to the Water Rats, this third time, to headline, the fan base was visible (and very audible)

It really looked like the time to start adding 2020 shows for a real album campaign. Yep, you've guessed it. Just when it all looked like things were falling into place!...

2020 - thank you Modern Age Music who booked some Spring shows to preview an April release on Tom's Anti Fragile Music

Then the old world ended. 'Waiter' was a non-single into the pandemic void. If you've heard it, you'll understand it needs to be heard eventually.

'Almost Everything Is Bullshit' was released in lockdown and the band still get thank you messages for that.

The songs mean a lot to some people. In fact, the band do.

It's an unknown record outside of the independent world where all reviews are stunning, but still streaming strong internationally.

Thank you everybody who has word of mouthed it and a warm welcome to anybody discovering this almost secret band.

Images: MOSES audience are a beautiful choir. The seeds of a FUNbase. These pix by Mike Rădulescu are their last headline show, November 2019 at the Water Rats.

MOSES got to make 3 x live performances (a TV pilot and 2 x seated event support slots, SNCFest and Amersham Arms) blessed to be recommended. Appreciation to 2020 guitarist, Lockdown Luke. Victor co-created the informative Chat The Great podcast with presenter/broadcaster, Louise Schofield.

In the mean time, MOSES wrote a second album and started recording it, safety first travel style to Wolverhampton and back.

I think we're all scared of hope

2021 - after background trauma, a primal howl, 'Pawns' released as a single when Victor had recovered from Covid. Then two all-acclaimed singles 'Move On' (Spring) and 'That's Who You Are'.(Summer).

Every song is a real time rock opera number and with Otta on guitar this year (love the "Jesus has joined MOSES comments") an extra tint of Led Zep.

A storming show in the heat at SNCFest in July, back by request and got to play with Bugeye again.

All the above with absolute respect for John Kennedy of Radio X who has continued to support, play and believe in this band -  alongside an international friendship ring of fans, radio, bloggers, promoters...

It makes all the difference!

Could not make up the feedback for MOSES from those who know (2021 EPK) ThanX again

Those Spring 2020 tour dates went on a tour of their own over the last eighteen months and have finally landed in Autumn 2021. The first MOSES headline tour of small venues. A landmark for most band stories. (excited)

Please, universe...

After everything, will the Grace gig work out on 21st August?

People getting pinged or having social anxiety? I'm just asking the universe to let MOSES play because they're a genuine antidote to the stressful reality.

What fantastic new songs up their sleeves, too. Out on their own limb, as ever. Thank you guru Gavin!

On the Road!
